“Flags on Main” Project!
Soon the Stars and Stripes will decorate our town in a display of Pride and Patriotism.
Help line Main Street with patriotic flags. It will be a beautiful sight and remembrance to see Old Glory flying proud.

Close to 200 American Flags will run the length of Route 190 from Somersville to the Stafford line, a distance of five miles. Almost 50 more flags will dorn the span of RT 83, from Giesslers to North Cemetary/Stebbins Road. Each setup costs approximately $75 and includes pole, bracket, and 3x5 embroidered nylon flags (made in America of course).
The Post spends nearly $2000 a year to maintain this project. Maintainence includes relacing unservicable flags, bent or broken poles/brackets, etc. We couldn't do it without the generous support of the town, our members and residents who donate annually. At current prices; it would cost nearly $19,000 to stand up this program today. Please consider making a donation to this project today!

Flags will be in place waving proudly throughout Somers from just before Memorial Day in May to just after Veteran’s Day in November.
(Flags may be removed earlier, based on weather)
