Memorial Day Ceremonies:

Post 101 is planning on conducting ceremonies at all seven war memorials on Memorial Day May 30th, 2022. The main centerpiece ceremony will be our Post Everlasting Ceremony being held in Center Cemetery, 81 Battle Street, Somers, CT. This is a nonsectarian, formal, and solemn ceremony where we transfer our fallen comrades from Post 101 to the Post Everlasting. This ceremony is performed by members of Post 101 as a way of paying tribute and saying farewell to members of the post who have passed away and includes prayer, honors rendered by a Legion firing party (three volley salute), formal transfer of records, and taps. .  There also will be Memorial Day ceremonies performed at each of the town’s seven Memorials (three cemeteries and four separate war memorials.
